The slender, oval shape of traditional japanese kokeshi dolls inspired designer Kai Linke‘s for his the lamp series Kokeshi. The stylized versions of the carved wooden toy figurines combine an irregularly shaped ceramic torso with a silky, shimmering glass head in white or dark gray that diffuses indirect light. The blow lamp is produced from hand-blown glass and ceramics. Bubbles, streaks and other variations in size and color are part of the production process, and not defects of the design or production. Three versions at 150, 112 or 75 cm height can freely be combined with each other and create visual highlights in any environment.
